Compared with other material cylinder liners, zirconia ceramic cylinder liners have their performance advantages. The following is a performance comparison between zirconia ceramic cylinder liners and some common cylinder liner materials:
1. Compared to bimetallic cylinder liners:
(1) Advantages:
Zirconia ceramic cylinder liner has a simple structure and reliable operation. When used to achieve reciprocating motion, the reduction device can be omitted, there is no transmission gap, and the motion is stable.
It has the advantages of wear resistance, corrosion resistance, high pressure resistance, high temperature resistance, high strength, and high hardness, and can work in more harsh working conditions.
Long service life, 5-10 times longer than bimetallic cylinder liners, with a service life of over 4000 hours.
It can reduce transportation costs, maintenance costs, labor costs, storage costs, etc. of drilling work.
(2) Disadvantages: The cylinder may deform during future operation; Cylinders are prone to plastic deformation and leakage; The cylinder and flange are prone to significant deformation defects such as thermal stress and deformation.
2. Compared with single metal cylinder liners (after carburizing and high-frequency treatment, the hardness of single metal cylinder liners can reach HRC58-62, with high smoothness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and long service life, suitable for use in milder corrosive mud):
(1) Advantages: Zirconia ceramic cylinder liner has higher flexural and tensile strength, fracture toughness, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, wear resistance, high temperature resistance, high pressure resistance, high strength, and high hardness. Its service life significantly exceeds that of single metal cylinder liners.
(2) Disadvantages: The cost of single metal cylinder liners is relatively low, and the manufacturing process may be simpler.
